GAIL CONDCUTED OFF-SITE MOCK DRILL ( LEVEL-III) WITH STATE ADMINISTRATION

GAIL(India) LIMITED, Ranchi CGD conducted an off-site mock drill on 21st June 23 to assess the preparedness in case of eventuality on City Gas Distribution Natural gas pipeline which is supplying gas to houses, CNG Stations inside Ranchi CITY . The gas pipeline may get damaged by third party intervention and to take stock of the safety requirements and security arrangements to deal with the emergency, offsite mock drill was conducted. Teams of NDRF, SDRF, Health Department and Fire Department along with the district administration team participated in this mock drill. The mock drill was witnessed by the residents and school children.
GAIL (General Manager)-Shri S. Angamuthu told that there is a marker every 50 meters on the gas pipeline which shows that high pressure gas line is passing from here. Before doing any digging inform on the phone number written on that RCC marker. GAIL’s Deputy General Manager- Mr. Prashant Kumar Singh said that usually the gas pipeline is buried at a depth of one to two meters from the ground. Line patrollers are deployed to look after the security of the line. In case of any gas leakage, the line patroller should immediately inform the local control room. Mr. Saurav Anand, Senior Manager, Fire & Safety Department, GAIL told in the mock drill that if there is any leakage in the natural gas pipeline, people should inform the GAIL Control Room toll free number- 1800123121111 with location details.
