Dividend yield % meaning
Dividend yield % means how much money you will get on one share of that
company. For example, the price of one share of the company IOC (Indian Oil
Corporation) is Rs.77. Now if you have a
share of this company which is worth Rs.77, then you get 8.21 Rs. as per the
company dividend 10.67%. And if you had 200 shares of this company, it would
have been worth Rs. 15,400. And the company would give you 1643 every year.
If you are getting 11-12% dividend every year on your principal, then it is
not a loss deal. Also, if the share price also increases, the profit will
increase.
